The end of an adventure or just a new beginning

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” Dr. Seuss

Hi guys,

My au pair stay is over and I’m back in Germany. So it’s time now for my last blog post and my last video.

I want to say thank you to everyone who has come along with me on this adventure, read my blog and watched my videos. Thank you also to a wonderful host family that has truly become a second family for me. Thanks to AuPairWorld and to all my colleagues for giving me this opportunity and helping me with the execution. Thanks to my friends and family for being involved in my adventure and giving me the support I needed when I sometimes felt homesick or discouraged.

So my last video is a little review of my au pair adventure, a time I will never forget. I hope you enjoy it:

Bye bye and all the best :-)

Irish culture: Dancing and food

Hi guys,

For my latest video I went out to experience some new aspects of Irish culture – so I could report back to you.  This had me eating oysters (on the one hand) and step dancing (on the other) and of course watching the experts who can do it better than me. And better than reading about it here, take a look at the video. Hope you enjoy!

And talk to you soon!

The “orange” nightmare or how good is my English now?

Hi guys,

English is a great language and I think much easier than German. But not as easy as I thought. Sometimes it’s one simple word that I can’t say right. For example, the word “orange”. My host kids always correct me when I say it. It’s just a nightmare because I can’t even hear what I’m saying wrong. 😀 But apart from this, I really like improving my English here in Ireland. What’s the rest of the story? Take a look at my video, where I tell you more.

Talk to you soon!

Ellen :-)

Playing with my host kids

Hi guys,

As we all know, there are lots of things you can do with kids. In my new video I share some of our more playful moments together.  What I like best is giving the kids a chance to be creative. When I was a little one myself, it was always the most fun to create my own games, and that’s what I try to let my host kids do now, too. Sometimes I help them a little bit to get started with some small idea and then they take the story from there. Beside that, we love the classics. Just take a look at the video and you’ll see what I mean :-)

Talk to you soon!

Ellen :-)

PS: What are you doing with your host kids?
